2014 BMW M5 sedan
The 2014 BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the midsize BMW 5 Series luxury sedan that comes with an aggressive styling cue that differentiate the M5 from the regular 5 Series. The new M5 is the combination of the power of a supercar and the convenience of a four-door five-seat family sedan. The BMW M5 competes with the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, Audi S6, Jaguar XFR and Cadillac CTS-V.
The 2014 BMW M5 comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension dampers, adaptive xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensor, a sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, heated front seats with memory settings, 16-way power front seats, a navigation system, voice commands, iDrive electronics interface, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity and a 12-speaker audio system with a 6-CD changer and an USB/iPod interface. A lot of other features are available as options, independently or grouped in packages.
The Competition Package adds 20″ light alloy Double Spoke wheels with performance tires. The Executive package adds 4-zone automatic climate control, front ventilated seats, soft-close automatic doors, power tailgate, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel and power rear sunshade with manual rear side window shades. Lighting package adds adaptive Full LED lights and automatic high beams. Driver Assistance Plus package adds side and top view cameras, Speed limit info and Active Blind Spot Detection. Also available as options are a rear-seat entertainment system and a Bang&Olufsen sound system.
The rear-wheel-drive 2014 BMW M5 is powered by a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo 32-valve V8 engine with variable valve control that produces 560 hp and 501lb-ft o torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed Double Clutch automatic transmission with Drivelogic. A 6-speed manual transmission is available as an option.
Standard safety features include stability control, traction control, ABS, front-seat side airbags, active front head restraints and BMW Assist emergency communication system.
